Samsung Galaxy SIV: A Review

Samsung Galaxy S4Smartphones have already become an important part of business communication by empowering their users by allowing them to get the best features and services of phone service providers just like RingCentral, perform more advanced telephony operations that go beyond just mere call and text, and improve the image of their company. Because of this singular position of the smartphone in the daily operations of a business, it is important that businesses think carefully when it comes to choosing the smartphone that they will use. A haphazard decision may mean financial setback, especially for small and medium-sized businesses that are cash-strapped and have limited resources.

It is important to put your money where you can get the most value. When we talk about smartphones, there are a lot of brands that can attend to the needs of your business. One of the best smartphone manufacturers in the world today is the Korean company Samsung Electronics. In the wake of its smash hit Samsung Galaxy SIII, this tech giant is set to release to the market its latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy SIV.

This smartphone sports a bigger screen than the Galaxy SIII at 5 inch, thought the design principle is every inch identical to that of its predecessor. It has managed to become thinner and lighter than the SIII with a thickness of 7.9 mm and a weight of just 130 grams. It has also ramped up other specs such as greater screen resolution at 1080 pixels with 441 ppi pixel density, increased battery life with a 2600mAh battery, an faster processor (a 1.6GHz octo-core or 1.9GHz quad-core processor), and a 13MP rear-facing camera aside from a 2MP front-facing camera.

This smartphone gets a boost with the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and more specialized software that makes it at par, if not better than, the iPhone. It boasts of a number of new and slick programs such as a TV control app, an eye-tracking and gesture-control application, and touch-free controls.

Its plastic casing, while may not sit well with some consumers, is specifically aimed at increasing the durability of the handset. Though visually appealing, many would still be attracted to the metal casing of the HTC One or the polished glass of the iPhone 5, if we are going to talk about aesthetics only.

The Samsung Galaxy SIV also sports the Touch Wiz overlay, as well as other tools carried over from the Galaxy Note such as multiview mode. It has also included the S Translator tool that is embedded into the email, as well as the ChatOn messenger app that is capable of three-way video calling. Group Play is also a nice touch for SIV users as this app allows sharing of music, documents, and photos through NFC or Bluetooth. For people who drive, Samsung has also added a new feature, the Galaxy S Voice Drive, which serves as a voice command application and navigation system for drivers, while at the same time allowing them to send messages and make calls.

A nice touch is the eye-tracking application which allows you to pause and scroll the video or page you are looking at depending on the movement of your eyes. Though at the demo this feature still has detectable response lag, there is still time for this to be polished.

These are just a few of the things that you should anticipate with the Samsung Galaxy SIV.
