iPhone 6 vs Nexus 6 Specs Overview and Release Dates

The most heavily anticipated new phones of the year are hands down the iPhone 6 and the Nexus 6. Though little has been confirmed concerning these phones, we do know that both Nexus and Apple are planning the release of their hardware for later this year. It seems that Nexus is looking at October or November for their official release while Apple’s sights are set a little earlier with a September release date. Additionally, we’re not even certain which manufacturer will be creating Nexus’ newest addition. But, even without all of the particulars, we can’t help but scrutinize the rumors and wonder which model will reign supreme.

Nexus, on the other hand, will feature a 5.5 inch screen. This big screen will host an incredible 2k display. The iPhone 6 screen is supposed to be 416 ppi, but the Nexus is set to beat this with 534 ppi, a wondrous number indicating pixel density.

We know that Google most recently unveiled the newest Android OS at a conference. The Android 5.0 or L Lollipop is expected to be featured in the newest Nexus release. However, the newest addition may have arrived too late and we may see it run with the Android 4.5. The iPhone 6 will of course by used in conjunction with iOS 8, the greatest of Apple’s iOS’. Both phones will work with quad cores. The Nexus’ processor will run at 2.7 GHz as opposed to the marginally slower iPhone at 2.6 GHz.

Meanwhile, one video on the iPhone suggests that there may be a wireless charging system involved in the release.

The iPhone 6 is expected to keep the aluminum standard set by the iPhone 5. Additionally, the phone will be protected with sapphire glass, a durable electronic casing and covering. This type of glass is the same type that is used to create the scratch resistant covering commonly used on the screens of electronics. On the other hand, the Google Nexus will also host a partial aluminum body that will be accentuated by thin bezel. The thin bezel will take the place of the plastic that graced the edges before. The iPhone series is known for its simple, sleek appearance and it will be interesting to see how the newest version of the Nexus holds up. nexus 6

As far as storage goes, the iPhone 6 will have 2 GB of RAM storage while the Nexus will host 3 GB of RAM. In terms of internal storage, we can count on between 16 and 32 GB of storage and the iPhone 6 will have both 32 and 64 GB versions to choose from. Additionally, several sources have rumored that both devices will be supported by the option of microSD card to further the storage capacity of the phones. This would significantly expand the storage of both devices. With current microSD capabilities, this could mean up to more than 100 GB of storage.

There are some new technologies that will be housed in both phones. They will both contain Near Field Communication technology. Both will use fingerprint scanners for optimal security. Nexus has promised that the final layer of the phone will be resistant to both dust and water, making it IP67 certified.

Reports have suggested that the iPhone will be powered by a top notch battery somewhere between 1,700 and 2,000 mAh. The Nexus is supposed to outdo the iPhone in this regard with a 3100 mAh battery unit.

It looks as though the Nexus will also outperform the camera of the iPhone. It will host a 13 MP regular camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. The iPhone will have just an 8 MP camera.

Price wise, it looks like the Nexus 6 will be around $655 US dollars. The iPhone 6 should sell at a higher price point, around $846 US dollars.
