Android is undoubtedly the most popular operating system for mobile phones now. There are a number of reasons that have contributed to Android’s success. The huge number of apps available and the mind-boggling number of phones running Android may be the two major reasons behind its success. These reasons however, cannot be applied to the case of the best-selling Android phones. One may wonder why these phones sell as much as they do, while all of them run on the same software! Samsung Galaxy S III

With over 30 million units sold worldwide (as of June 2012), Samsung Galaxy S III tops the list of the top selling mobile phones. There are many reasons why this phone has sold as many units as it has and to discuss them in detail would take a long time. Samsung has become one of the leading phone manufacturers in the world and its Galaxy S series always pushed the envelope when it came to the latest technologies in phones. S III is no different from its predecessors. It boasted of the latest features at its disposal. Not only are the features no match for most phones in the segment, but the Samsung mobile price in India also plays in its favour. A 4.8 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a stunning resolution of 720x1280p protected by Gorilla Corning Glass 2, a quad core 1.4GHz processor with 1GB RAM on an Exynos 4412 Quad, a 8MP primary camera and 1.9MP secondary and, last but not the least, running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. HTC One X

HTC happens to be a much underrated phone manufacturer. It does not have a wide catalogue of products like Samsung or Nokia but nonetheless it is quite popular with a certain group of people. HTC phones have excellent quality and their manufacturing is impeccable. HTC One X is one of their most popular products and has sold over 26 million units (as of June 2012). The HTC mobile price list has been smartly done and this device puts it right in the middle of this list, making it that much more attractive.

Samsung Galaxy S II

It certainly speaks volumes about a company when two of its phones make to the top three of a list on top selling phones. As of June 2012, Samsung has sold over 16 million units of Galaxy S II. As mentioned before, the Galaxy series was always a step ahead of the competition. This is most apparent in S II which is still going strong despite the launch of S III and S4. Its features are yet to be rivaled fully in a phone at its price range. A Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen on a 4.3 inches 480x800p display is not something to laugh at especially when the 8MP primary camera is capable of taking videos at 1080p, which at the time of this phone’s launch was unavailable in over half the televisions. The primary camera is backed up by a secondary one of 2MP. The dual core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB RAM is more than enough to handle the routine smartphone tasks efficiently even today. S II comes preloaded with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Os but can be upgraded to 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.
